We slowly became attached to the stray cat
This past winter, there was this cat that kept coming up to our backdoor.
My wife decided to feed the cat, but I was saying not to let the cat inside. I thought the cat might be infested with fleas or have some kind of disease. We didn’t know where that cat had been. My wife felt so bad especially when it started snowing outside. The cat was there at the door just meowing, and finally I gave in and said the cat could come in temporarily. We have a nice fireplace and that cat went right near the fireplace to warm up. He actually meowed towards me like he was saying thank you for letting me warm up next to your fireplace. I even started feeding the cat and I realized that we could not just send him back outside to freeze to death. We ended up keeping the cat for the remainder of the winter and I thought we would let the cat be on his way in the spring. We did let the cat go outside, but he kept coming back and he insisted on coming inside. I even noticed that the cat enjoyed laying next to the HVAC vent when we had the air conditioning system on. I thought that was strange how this cat seemed to appreciate good temperature control settings. My wife and I both became attached to this cat, and it seemed like the cat had adopted us as his parents. I never thought I would become attached to an animal like that, but this little guy became a member of our family.
