I miss our HVAC guy

Last summer the guy who we relied on for all of our HVAC needs passed away.

Gerry was one of the coolest people that I met that put his heart and soul into his HVAC business from the time he was a teenager until his late eighties.

Ever since my partner and I moved into town nearly forty years ago, this was the one and only person who was able to take care of our home for us and he was also the first friend that we made around here. I can still remember when we first moved into town and he took the time out of his day to walk over to our house with a homemade meal and introduced himself. Well, After a few weeks of accepting the fact that our friend and longtime HVAC tech was no longer with us we had no other choice but to start looking for other options. So far we have had rather poor results and don’t feel comfortable forming a long term partnership with any of the other HVAC companies in town. When talking to the majority of these companies the first thing they bring up is a price before even asking for your name. If you were to ask me it seems like over the forty years that we were relying on one person there have been dozens and dozens of HVAC companies that have popped up and clearly are more focused on profit than the people they serve. Sooner or later we will have to hire somebody though, or else we will be out of luck when the winter rolls around.
