I learned the hard way why you don’t try to fix an HVAC system as an amateur

There is a reason that heating, ventilation as well as A/C professionals go to all those lengths to be certified and licensed for what they do.

I have the price tag to prove it.

Going forward with a stupid system of fixing our own heating, ventilation as well as A/C went so terribly wrong that I can hardly know how I thought it was ever a nice idea. It all started when I noticed that the heating, ventilation as well as A/C was cycling on a whole lot. It was still early summer season so the temps weren’t exactly broiling yet. But the heating, ventilation as well as A/C was running all the time. I felt the air coming out of the vents and it wasn’t near as cool as it normally is. This is the spot I should have reached for the PC and called the heating, ventilation as well as A/C professionals that the people I work with and I have used for decades. That is not at all what happened. Instead, I went to the laptop and looked up a random diagnosis online. What could go wrong? It appeared to me that all I had to do was go to the hardware store and get a special heating, ventilation as well as A/C recharge kit. They wouldn’t make them if I couldn’t use them right? Of course, I didn’t suppose what I was doing nor did I even actually suppose what sort of problem the heating, ventilation as well as A/C was having. But that didn’t stop me from hooking up the recharge thing. It didn’t take however a few seconds before I heard a pop and then a hiss. This wasn’t good. At least I had the wherewithal to turn off the heating, ventilation as well as A/C and call the heating, ventilation as well as A/C people. I had cracked the compressor and done some other destruction that was totally unrelated to the initial problem. Please, learn from our mistakes. Only have the pros fool around with the heating, ventilation as well as A/C.
