College has been difficult with my current roommate
Back when I was a young teenager looking forward to heading off to undergrad college, I was extremely excited for this experience.
- I didn’t have the most ideal high school experience while I was there and I had spent years hearing all of the cool stories from my siblings about how great college was.
It was nearly the only thing that I was able to use as consolation! Well, for the past couple of months I have been at college and I have also not been enjoying my time. Part of it has been due to the classes that I have been taking, but the other big thing is that it has been due to the fact that my roommate is a undoubtedly controlling guy. I could tell that the people I was with and I were going to have problems on the first afternoon that I moved. Because almost immediately after I tried to turn the air conditioner on to cool down after an hour of moving things in, my roommate that will remain nameless began to berate myself and others as if I had stolen something from him… He went on to talk about how he is undoubtedly sensitive about the air conditioner settings and how I was also not allowed to change the A/C settings under any circumstances. Sadly, not much has changed from that first afternoon, and so at this point I am just excited that I’m home due to the virus and no longer have to deal with him. But despite the bad start, I guess that my experience will get better, but there is no chance that I will be moving back in with him once I do return to college.
