We need a new compressor the A/C
The AC technician told us it was going to cost about $1,200 to replace the compressor
When is the worst time for the AC to stop working? I would say the answer to that question is probably the middle of the summer. When my wife and I got home from vacation last year, we came home to find our air conditioner off. When we left the house, we had the air conditioner set for 75°. When we entered our home and found warm air conditions, we immediately knew something was wrong. My wife didn’t waste any time. She texted the thermostat and even changed the batteries to a fresh pair. That did not fix the issue. We had to call an AC repair company the same day. There was no way the two of us could have slept in that house when the indoor temperatures were so hot and humid. Luckily, the AC repair company had a same-day appointment. 2 hours after the phone call, an AC repair technician showed up on our doorstep. It only took 30 minutes for him to deliver the excruciatingly bad news. My wife and I had to replace the compressor in the AC unit. The AC technician told us it was going to cost about $1,200 to replace the compressor. Since our entire system was already 8 years old, it made more sense to replace the entire AC unit at that time. After coming home from a two-week vacation, the last thing my wife and I wanted to do was spend $5,000 on a brand new air conditioner. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened on that very day.
