My landlord won’t replace the central air conditioner
I cannot believe that my landlord won’t replace the central air conditioner in my apartment.
Literally, I only rented this apartment because I wanted a central air conditioner. There were tons of other options for apartments in this area. I had been looking at apartments for a while, but I chose this one. First of all, this apartment was beautiful, and I absolutely loved it. However, the central air conditioner was the deciding factor. The apartment was a little more expensive, but I decided to rent it anyway because I wanted a central air conditioner. However, the central air conditioner stopped working a few months after I moved in, and I cannot get the landlord to replace it. According to the contract, the landlord promised that I would have a central air conditioner. When he was explaining his policy, he told me that if my central air conditioner ever stopped working, he would fix the air conditioner. If he could not fix the air conditioner quickly, he would give me a window air conditioner while he was working on the central air conditioner. However, none of that was listed on the lease. Nearly as soon as I moved in, the central air conditioner stopped working. I called the landlord, and he told me that he would work on it. However, he installed a window air conditioner and decided that he had done enough. He apparently said that he only promised that I would have an air conditioner, but he never specified a central air conditioner. I am so angry right now. I cannot believe that he refuses to replace or fix the air conditioner.
