I ran into a snake nest on the job
I’ve done a million HVAC jobs as an HVAC technician, and I really take pride in my work.
I love seeing the smiles on people’s faces when I get their HVAC working like new again.
People even give me generous tips on occasion, and I always appreciate that. Well, there was this one job that really caught me off guard. The people were desperate to get their cooling system working, and I thought the job would be a piece of cake. The thing is, I had to crawl under the house to repair a refrigerant leak that they had. When I was going into the crawl space, that’s when I saw something moving around. I realized that there were a bunch of snakes under there! I couldn’t tell you how fast I scrambled out from under that home. It must have been a record for me because usually I don’t move that fast. I am deathly afraid of snakes and I told these people that they had to get some kind of animal control or reptile expert right away because they had a snake nest under their home. They seemed just as surprised as I was when I saw the snakes. They didn’t hesitate to call up a good animal control expert to take care of the situation. I actually decided to stick around to see to it that all the snakes were removed and then I was going to tackle that refrigerant leak. The team of animal control experts must had removed over 10 snakes, and I was thankful when they were all gone. The people who lived there were thankful too that I was able to alert them to this huge problem. Finally, I was able to get under there to fix the leak and refill the refrigerant to their cooling system. They were so happy when the cooling system was working great again.
