I couldn’t believe they bought me an AC unit for my birthday.
I was so upset last week.
The air conditioning in my apartment broke down.
I was so upset that I didn’t have air conditioning. I was waking up more tired than when I went to bed. It was so hot and humid in the house, that I couldn’t even walk in without sweating. I had to get some air conditioning, but I didn’t know how. I decided to put out a hint to my dad and see if he could loan me the money. I went over to dinner a couple nights later. I had it all planned out. I was going to get dad alone and tell him I didn’t have any air conditioning. The landlord wouldn’t fix the AC unit, so I had to buy my own. I wasn’t even in the house before he asked me what was wrong. I never invited myself to dinner in the middle of the week. I told him all about the air conditioning and how hard it was to sleep or stay comfortable. He asked me if I wanted to come home until I could get the air conditioning unit repaired. I couldn’t even give a good hint. I kissed him and mom goodbye and I headed back to my hot apartment. I went shopping with my mom that weekend. When mom dropped me off, dad was there, and he was just getting out of his car. He smiled and told me that he had a gift for me. Mom told him that it was my birthday present. He started to laugh and told me he had my birthday present in the car. He and mom had gone out and bought a window air conditioning unit for me.
