Have you ever had stink bugs in your house?
I remembered when my mom accidentally stepped on a stink bug in her bedroom.
- It was an odor that is really hard to forget.
That is what stuck out at me when my husband dragged this old furnace home with him. He insisted that it was a steal and he knew it would not just heat the house well, but it would be efficient. I was afraid to even see the furnace come off the truck, but he was persistent. He had his brother come to the house to help him take the furnace off the truck and get it set up in the basement. I asked him if he was sure that the furnace was the right thing for our home? He told me he was positive it was the right furnace for our house. I kept smelling this odd odor coming from that machine, but I wasn’t sure what it was. As he and his brother dragged the furnace down into the basement, the odor got even stronger. When I saw him grab a hammer and screwdriver and head toward the furnace, I panicked. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to open that furnace, even though I wasn’t sure why. My husband kissed my forehead and told me to relax. He no sooner got the front off the furnace that I saw them come flying out at us. There must have been about a million stink bugs coming out of that furnace. It was an odor I knew it was going to take some time to get rid of.
